Because we are a family owned business, we understand how important the esthetic value of your home or business is.  We pride ourselves on the highest quality work at an affordable price.  The company merges state-of-the-art computer aided design equipment and photography when developing your designs.  This allows us to actually show you the end product before we do any labor.  The company is able to assist you with all of your landscaping needs including design, construction, lighting and maintenance.  

Company Profile

Camilla McKinnon is Gardens By Design's CEO.   She has been a Master Gardener since 1997, and became an Advanced Master Gardener in 2001.   Her credits include: Master Gardener conference speaker locally 1997, April 2001, Master Gardener Garden Tour, July 1999 & Detroit Flower Show, 'Bloom-fest 2000' speaker, 'Landscape Design; Old Construction-New Construction.  Her recent & future speaking engagements include local garden clubs, September 2002, October 2002, and March 2003.  In 1996 a feature article, written by Marty Figley  was printed in the local 'Observer/Eccentric paper describing the recently constructed perennial garden that encompasses many of her families heirlooms and personal plants named for the family.  

Camilla is a member of the Michigan Green Industry Association.  Perhaps her most important credit is she will guarantee that your landscape project or design is done right.   Camilla has been designing and landscaping with Gardens By Design since 1997, but has been actively involved in gardening and professional landscaping since 1988.

Gardens By Design is affiliated with Gardener's Supply Company, Jackson & Perkins, Flowers.com, Burpee Seed Co., and ELandscape.  Other employees include college students and family members certified in Agriscience.  An Advanced Systems Administrator engineered the website and assists in company operations.
